About Erik
Erik Houlihan-Jong is a versatile, UK-based voice actor who seamlessly blends elite vocal performance with professional audio production. Originally from Canada, Erik has spent the past 20 plus years living and working in the United Kingdom. Over the years, he has naturally developed a unique hybrid accent that brings a distinct, engaging quality to the microphone.
An accomplished multi-instrumentalist and singer across classical, musical theatre, and pop genres, Erik received prestigious vocal training from two esteemed Members of the Order of Canada—the late singer, conductor and composer Mr. Albert Greer, and operatic soprano Ms. Lois Jeanette McDonall—as well as masterclasses at the Manhattan School of Music. This exceptional foundation underpins his narrative versatility and precise vocal control.
Complementing his artistry is over three decades of workshop leadership and presentation experience. Erik has taught music and drama in UK schools up to A level and served as a theatrical musical director. Additionally, he spent a decade working as a brand ambassador for Divine Chocolate, delivering workshops and cooking demonstrations to hundreds of participants at high-profile venues like Borough Market.
Equally proficient behind the mixing desk, Erik brings strong technical experience to his work, having recorded and mixed music for years, run live sound mixing, and overseen technical direction for live theatre productions. This unique combination of elite vocal artistry, public engagement, and deep familiarity with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) ensures he delivers compelling, broadcast-ready voiceover performances of the highest professional standard.
My Studio
My home studio is the heart of everything I do. Though my recording journey actually started way back in the day creating music on those iconic, neon-coloured iMacs G3s (if you know, you know!). While the gear has been seriously upgraded since the era of dial-up, that decades-long obsession with audio tech is exactly what drives my setup today. I’ve taken everything I know about capturing pristine sound and poured it into building a broadcast-ready environment specifically optimised for speech. For you, that means crisp, flawless, and crystal-clear voiceovers every single time.
